Application
Ponceau BS has been used in Masson′s trichrome stain for the staining of collagen. It has also been used for eosinophil staining.
Yellow light red. Soluble in water for orange red, slightly soluble in ethanol and soluble fiber element, insoluble in other organic solvents. In the dark for the strong sulfuric acid, diluted for orange red, then have a brown precipitation. In nitric acid solution for blue, then into amber color. In water solution to join strong hydrochloric acid have red precipitate; Add thick sodium hydroxide solution have yellow brown precipitation.
